Stabannon NS

Playground & play centre Louth

Checked July 2026

Scoil San Nioclás was built in 1958 to replace the old school which was in use since 1844. In 1983 a prefabricated classroom was added. In 1995 the school was extended and completely refurbished. In 2011 a further classroom was added to the building. A school library was set up and the whole school, both inside and outside got a face lift. 2014 saw the addition of The Learning Lab. We now use this facility along with The Boost Room for group activities. A playground was opened in 2015. This is a wonderful asset to our school. Little Stars, Stabannon Community Playschool, have also enjoyed the benefits of this amenity. Around the school are spacious grass and tarmac areas which allow for a range of sporting activities to be played. The parish hall is across the road from the school and the school has full use of this building.
