Silver strand is a remote, unspoilt beach approximately 25km south of Louisburgh on the R378 and located at the mouth of Killary Fjord, on the northern shore. Though off the beaten track, Silver Strand is very popular with families due to the shelter provided by the rocky headlands and high sand dunes. There is a car park with toilet facilities.
