Beach & coast Dublin

Checked July 2026

Seapoint beach is a gently sloping sandy beach with areas of rocks along the coastline. There is an exclusion zone for motorized craft for 300 metres from the foreshore and this is marked by lighted buoys. Swimmers should be aware that there may be sudden large waves caused by the car ferries and that there is no diving allowed from the platforms. Fishing is not permitted within the bathing area. The beach is located within a National Heritage Area, Special Area of Conversation and a Special Protection Area. Activities include sailing, kayaking and swimming. Seapoint is classified as achieving Excellent Water Quality in 2024 based on the assessment of bacteriological results for the period 2021 to 2024. Seapoint has achieved an Excellent Water Quality rating for the four consecutive years 2021 to 2024.
