This is a deep area of water with a slight decline for entry from the access point, there is a fast-flowing weir across the river with a healthy wild water bird population. There are cement steps in the riverbank to allow access to the water. This is a very popular area for swimming in the summer months among residents, people from the surrounding area and from the neighbouring county in Kilkenny.
