County Limerick Trail - Clare Glens

Woods, parks & walks Limerick

Checked July 2026

The Clare Glens is a wooded area along the banks of the Clare River, which separates counties Limerick and Tipperary. The scenery is breathtaking, with wild dense forest combined with the calm rushing of the crystal clear waters. Crystal clear waters of Clare river flow through dense forest in a red sandstone gorge to create a truly beautiful setting. The numerous waterfalls which flow through the sandstone also help to make this loop walk incredibly picturesque. The river flowing through the area surrounding this trail marks the border between Tipperary and Limerick so as you cross over bridges, you’re also crossing county lines.
