Clogga Beach is a sandy beach backing onto cliffs and coastal rock protection and leading to shallow and clear waters. The cliff face and Arklow Rock provide a habitat for nesting birds. Arklow Rock-Askintinny is a proposed Natural Heritage Area (pNHA001745) Clogga is classified as achieving Excellent Water Quality in 2024 based on the assessment of bacteriological results for the period 2021 to 2024. Clogga achieved a Good Water Quality rating in 2023 and 2022 and an Excellent Water Quality rating in 2021. Annual water quality ratings are generally calculated using monitoring results over a four-year period and are assessed against stringent bacterial limits to protect bather health.
