Bloody Bridge

Beach & coast Down

Checked July 2026

Just outside Newcastle at the foot of the Mourne Mountains lies lagoon-like waters of Bloody Bridge. The inland rock pools are an amazing place to dip in. To get to the inland pools, it is best to park at the Bloody Bridge car park. You will then need to cross the road and follow the track towards the mountains. Stay on the track as it follows the river and you have a number of pools to choose from. Shore Surface: No Information. Paddling: No Information. Jumping Or Diving: No Information.
