Belmullet Tidal Pool and Shore Road Bathing Area is situated to the north of Blacksod Bay only a short distance from Belmullet Town Centre in Co. Mayo. It is a rocky beach which extends approximately 900m along Shore Road promenade looking west across Blacksod Bay and features a tidal pool, which was constructed in the 1980's. The bathing area also lies within the Mullet/Blacksod Bay Complex Special Area of Conservation (SAC) and the Blacksod Bay/Broadhaven Bay Special Protection Area (SPA). This is a popular location with a wide range of water-based sports and activities taking place including swimming, paddleboarding, canoeing, jet skiing and water safety activities, lessons and training. Belmullet Tidal Pool and Shore Road Bathing Area has been newly identified in 2025 as a beach for monitoring, management and assessment under the requirements of the 2008 Bathing Water Quality Regulations.
